In 2022, I made a pretty big shift from digital to traditional media.

In the beginning of the year, I did a lot of work in water color. I’m pretty happy with some of my early results, and as I write this, I am itching to get back to it. I think with practice I could get decently good at it.

Then at some point in April, I decided to toy around with fountain pens. I had no idea the depth of the rabbit hole I was about to fall into. I especially loved drawing with fude nibs, as they offer the ability to draw thin lines and fill in large patches of black with a single pen. Over the year, I’d spent a lot of money (way too much) on fountain pens, custom nib grinds, inks, and gear. But, I enjoyed it, so I suppose it was worth it. I also got a lot better at pen and ink style sketching as a result, so there is that too.

Anyway, here are some of my better pieces from the year.
